Stay worm, |
Retirement is great, especially when I find to do something for me.
Which isn't often. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
Work is just over rated.
|
Four more years...then part time.

LOL Between landscaping, putting a roof over the back deck, gettin ready to put a new floor in the kit. an all the work on plugs an such LOL well you know what I mean.Good thing the beer store is close by. as far as the kids an school goes well it goes by quick an its fun at times. You guys sound like my Dad, retired 2 years ago and he's more busy now than ever. Calls me 3-4 times a day (which I enjoy). Said "he wouldn't have retired if he knew he would be this busy". Just tinkers around all day. "Everyday is Saturday"

The key is we have been through what you all will. Head up and work hard. In Dallas now. Oldest granddaughter just got all A's. Back from Austin where my son and I weatherstripped his doors, cut into his hvac line to put HVAC into his bock room and did a few other chores. After fixing 5 striker plates in Dallas my daughter and I will replace 2 toilets this weekend. Reminds me of when my dad used to visit. The circle remains unbroken. All good.

Nice John -LOL. Just turned a couple hundred swimmer bodies and chubby needles. Only took a 6 pack or two. Oh my fiance Pam says I need a baby sitter LOL. She said she'll pay in beer LOL
|
my body retired before i was ready too
but i retired technically (physically) in 2005 .... Hard labor and injuries take their toll over time AT some point in the near future i will leave retirement and go back to work FULL TIME....again Can't wait... for the "good Life" .... hope i make it. |
Can't wait, it's right around the corner for me, the closer I get the more anxious I get. I won't have trouble filling my day, between my hobbies (golf, fishing, skiing, writing) and the yard work I actually find very therapeutic; I will have a full schedule. It will be so nice to wake up on one of those late fall flat calm days I used to wish I wasn't working on and just say cool going to hook up and go.
|
You think retirement means no more work, but it just means no more JOB....Your spouse will have a "honey-do" list of work for you to do at home, and you will be expected to finish those tasks ON TIME.....
...or you will start to hear those dreaded words: "Did you finish '(project X)' like you said you would???" Between having too many projects and having none, that's why many retirees go back to work full and part time. My aunt is in her 80's and is recovering from cancer surgery, and is planning on working as soon as she gets the OK from her doctor. My mother also in her 80's and works part time as the local church secretary. (She pretty much runs the church. - [her words]) I figure I've got another 10 - 15 years of grind before I consider retirement, and that's if I feel like it! (I actually like what I do.) |
LOL just finished puttin a roof on the back porch LOL. Now back to makin plugs oh that's right got 7 rods to build by Xmas LOL
|
Semi-retired. Work two days, off five. If you enjoyed your profession, this is the best of both worlds.
|
That "list" gets shorter the longer you are "retired". You also find yourself adding stuff to the list :) Being available 24/7 for fishing trips is NICE! You have to make a list of "those guys" that have stuff M-F or some other weird combination of work days, that you can tempt to fish on a moments notice during the week :) :)
