Boat Mechanic in North Kingstown RI
 

One of my best friends just purchased a 15 foot center console with a 40hp mercury. The boat and engine seem in good order, but the steering is pretty hard to turn. The steering box beneath the steering wheel was just replaced and we lubed up all the zert fittings and it loosened up a little bit, but is still pretty hard to turn. It does not have hydraulic steering.

He is looking for a mechanic who could check it out, to repair or possible replace the standard with hydraulic steering.
