so graphite is conductive right? I need to decide if my desire to go fishing tonight outweighs my desire not to get struck by lightning. hrmmm..... |
|
Go fishing. I don't see any lightning and I don't think we are supposed to get any are we? |
|
looks like there is a hole between storms from 7-11ish.. im so there... canal.. here i come. |

Graphite is conductive. While there seems to be some confusion as to whether fiberglass is or isn't, metal guides and salt water are also conductive, and I wouldn't fish in lightning with a glass rod either. You are also conductive, and lightning has been know to strike water or nearby ground and travel to a person standing close by. When you hear thunder cracking and no longer rumbling, it's time to get under cover. |

Graphite is conductive???? I find that shocking!!!! :hs: :hihi: :laugha: :jester: |

 *bzzzzzzzzzzrt* :D |

it pays to be precautious but then again...dont be paranoid. Lightening can come from as far as 40 miles away in a clear blue sky and it tends to step down like stairs..-> to different heights....so you can think your safe but you can still be struck by lightning anyways. |

*knock on wood* been offshore racing on sailboats and thundered (literally) through storms seen st elmo's fire never been struck on a boat yet although way offshore thunderstorms are INCREDIBLE |

well if it is destined for me to be struck down tonight by lightning be it 5 mins after i haul that 40lber out of da ditch. |
