Boy, that dumps line pretty quick.

I guess you'd have to freeze your plugs in water first! Then wait a bit for the ice to thaw.

Right lol i would think its chunkin only unless you could invent some kind of egg that would dis engage at the end of the launch.

Something similar to the sabots used for shotguns and muzzleloaders might work. Just a little bigger, you could probably use a leash on the sabot so it was reusable. And charge the cannon with nitrogen rather than dealing with a pump and batteries.

It's easy to impressively dump a short-spooled reel loaded with 80+lb braid. The distance claims for these things are greatly exaggerated.

The only application this contraption would be good for is shark fishing with large frozen/fragile baits like a whole herring or 1/2 a mackerel or bunker. The need to keep the pre-rigged bait and sinker frozen necessitates a powered freezer or dry-ice.

Really, for this thing's price tag, just get a decent distance set-up and learn to use it.
