You can probably park in front of the gate there but i would suggest a lot to the west just past the causeway on your left, south side of rt 20. Watch out with the ice, the water is moving through there at a decent clip, the ice is sketchy until it freezes pretty hard. They stock the river just downstream of the dam in the spring and fall, guys were doing pretty good in the river a couple weeks ago.

Is that where we had ice fishing tournaments in years past?

Yeah that's the lake just on the south side of rt 20.
