What does a visit to the Dr. cost?
Called last week, as I was suffering from a bad hammering cough as a tailend flu symptom. NP does the BP, weight, O2, and temp. Doctor I had not met comes in. Short discussion. It is flu season. Reads my notes on computer. Asks about whether I would try another cholesterol drug, ( I said sure, as long as it doesn't make me ache) Prescribes a z-pack of 250m azithromycin, and two inhalers (one of which I declined at CVS as it was $295.00)
Got the bill today for that 20 minutes....$390.00 Really?????? |
Sicking right, the only good thing is you can pay them $1 per month and they can not send you to collections

Children's Hospital ER, admitted 1 day - 15K. I'm screwed
|
IMO the cost should have been $100 to $125.

I found out this evening that a patient is billed $125 and the insurance pays $86.
You sure that the doctor wasn't a hemorrhoid doctor because you sure took it up the butt with the cost. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
my co-pays just went up
a prescription price just about doubled i just learned... :hs: I NO longer allow them to just write me prescriptions with out asking me first... because the side effects associated with some of them are Worse than the Original malady.... much better to self prescribe natural remedies that are cheap |

But you have to pay that amount, so the people who don't pay can keep getting free care! Don't you understand that? It's quite simple.

I went in to the doctors and forgot a referral , so I paid cash .$65 .00
Next time I went , same procedure but I had my insurance . I got billed my portion after insurance $165.00. They don't want you going to the doctors if you have insurance . Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

Bingo! This is how it works. Go to the Doctor for your 20 minutes. The Doctors wants say $80. In order to get this $80 they have to charge the ins co. $260....minus a co-pay, insurance discount, ins payment and then you are left with the rest sometimes....a few bucks. If the doctor charged the ins co $80 to start they would get $20. NOW THIS IS THE KICKER.......If you walked in off the street paying cash they should charge you $80 but no they will charge you the full price and as Tysdad says YOU ARE PAYING FOR ALL THEY PEOPLE WHO DON'T PAY!!!!! One of my sisters told me this, she works in a medical office. |
there's another way you "pay"
By exposing yourself to the flu Virus in the waiting room left behind by sick people with the flu bug |
Did you tell the doctors off you don't have insurance?! May be they can adjust the bill for you a little bit. It doesn't hurt to ASK, right?!
If you want to fix your cholesterol, you have to seriously change your diet and etc. (stop eating the little ladies cooking?! LOL). |
I thought everyone had insurance under Obamacare??? :conf:
