I was at the first meeting of S-B.com and Saltheart was there I believe with Smokey. Saltheart called it a Striped-Bass Fall Extravaganza .
Ed Fishpart was there and Schoolie Monster and Carl too
It was the first time I met JohnR, he was very patient with me as I remember.

The years have gotten away from my memory....was this the year of the blitz when people were going nuts hooking each other while we watched from the bridge? or the year everyone tried convincing me to march out to naps and I chickened out ? realizing that its been too long since Ive been to a gathering.....:tm:

this was before the years of the blitz .


that year .If someone had a video camera it would have 6 figure views,:lama:

people with hooks in their hands / people from one side of the breachway fighting the guy on the other side , thinking they both had fish .

JR going down into the middle of the frenzy;


the guys dragging a stringer of blues thru the dusty parking lot .

the DEM officer calling in to headquarters asking what the size & limit was on bluefish .which at that time was no limit :sspam:

we had some great ones / not many fish in the beginning but alot more fun

Years have gone fast, that's a long time back, thousands and thousands of casts ago. We had some good cookouts and eats ahead of the fishing, I always looked forward to the that more than the fishing.

Where was that photo taken? I can also remember another get together at Brenton Point Park with Manzi, Habs, Tattoo, Fisheye, and some others.

I joined SB on the year of the weekapaug get together / epic bloo fish blitz... I'd been lurking before I registered and saw mention of this get together, so I grabbed my gear and drove down. As I drove over the bridge at the breach way I saw utter meyhem... And couldn't believe that these googans and bucket toting mouth-breathers were the same people who seemed so knowledgable online, so I made an about face and drove home. It wasn't till that night when I read the reports here that that goon squad was NOT entirely made up I SB members. :hihi:
