spining reel seat

one of two matching Star boat rods that I've had for many moons has developed a spinning reel seat,,,,,, :-(

I'm thinking cut the cork fore grip off, slide the seat up and back down with new epoxy, fashion a EVA grip to match the removed cork grip, split it on one side, epox it on, cover it with shrink wrap,,,,,,

might there be another way? any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think your plan will work Gup.

That cork foregrip is looking tired anyway.

If you don't do this you may be able to drill a couple small holes in the real seat and inject some thin epoxy to re-glue.
