I was watching the news last night when Lester brought this news segment in for a 30 second piece and the remaining O'donnel (kelly?) which Lester (who I liked but am liking less these days) opens with "an extraordinary accusatory outburst" and when I watched the segment, I did not see any outburst. I waited.

So watching your Ted Cruz video, I see someone that is willfully and clearly making his points, outlining his information, and being about as unambiguous as you can be. Hardly an outburst - granted I'm only 12 minutes in before responsibilities beckon.

OK - rather than disparaging him for his looks, instead break down what he is trying to say? You don't see me habitually denigrating Obama on his looks, but on his actions and policies. Pick Cruz apart on multiple major issues, not whether he is a Muensters kid or not. I don't like Sanders because he is a closet communist. Not because he looks something.

For example, I don't like Trump, but I do like some of the things he says, even if it only gets the dialog started. Yet the media jumps on him in every way (like they do to Cruz) . They don't cover much of what he is saying, just the attack stuff. When you do it you are no better the the media.

Here is something, I bet Ted Cruz is a much better "Constitutional Lawyer" than Obama. I would LOVE to see these two debate. He is clearly smarter than Obama.

i guess he shaved the widow's peak

Ok! I got it to open. That was a great performance and I agree with just about everything he said.

Really? So maybe more substance than a muster kid?

I just fear that as a country we have things out of sequence and re-roll, l what others tell us.

Col Boyd's OODA loop has been replaced with Ready, Fire, Aim.

Cruz lost me with his green eggs and ham nonsense. It's hard to take someone seriously who recites DR Seuss on C-Span

Nonsense? Your dissing one of the most revered, influential, and popular books in the English language.

It has been a model for different media productions (music, TV, movies); been referred to by a US judge, been an all-time best seller; has been a teaching aid for various philosophies including objectivism; a model of literary brevity (only 50 different words used in the text); a supporter of social justice such as anti-discrimination; interpreted as an example of various religious teaching including Vedic, Judaic, and Christian views; and a literary work to influence various political principles--even Marxism (the Chinese banned it once as an example of early rather than evolved and progressive Marxism).

If you like Bernie Sanders, there should be a lot in Green Eggs and Ham that you would support.

Well . . . yeah . . . there is really not much in it. But a lot of "smart" folks, and even regular folks, who swear good stuff by it. ;)

It's a good book but my favorite is still Fox in Sox. Try reading that after a few glasses of wine :hihi:

Didn't Cruz seem to not realize the book was about tolerance for new ideas?

no, it was about trying to get him to eat something that looked disgusting, I don't remember it being shoved down his throat and all of his dietary options taken away in the future in order to make him "like" it

in GE&H Part II we learn that while the green eggs tasted ok.... they were in fact contaminated with salmonella and he dies a slow death....food poisoning(and socialism/progressivism) are not "new ideas"

Thats OK - the US hasn't tried to fuilly implement it yet - just because it barely works in other homogenous countries doesn't mean that the formerly great melting pot (we are less encourage to melt these days) can't pull it off with our fearless academia
