had a tiring night last night...
Fished down in Duxbury last night for a few hours.
After the tide turned the bait was getting washed out into the bay and the bass were stacked up waiting for them. The only problem was the size of the bait. The bass were keyed up on peanut bunker in the - inch size, and it made it harder to get them to bite. Don't get me wrong...they were biting, just that it took longer to get them to bite my lure. |
So, were you tired from catching fish or did you stay up past your normal bedtime?

Should this be moved to the Grumpy old Pharts Forum?

I hate when that happens.....
friggn' bass suck (hows that for grumpy?) |
Try a rattle trap. seems to work great when the peanuts are around.

Sounds emotionally draining. Next time throw an eel. Problem solved...

This is where the Egg and Fly goes into use.

tried again last night.
No fish (caught) Lots of fish breaking. Kills when you know there are plenty of fish there but they are keyed up on the peanut bunker, which explains why I struck out. There was so much bait that my lure just got lost in the mix. If the amount of bait is any indication of what may be to come, it could be a good fall!!! |
if your fishing after dark ...good F #$%^&*()_ luck,, if they are keyed on peanuts .if its daylight they are catchable :smokin:

comeback, and rarely see peanuts. Yeah, yeah I know Clammer, you don't even need to take the time to post it. :hihi: |
dead sticking a red fin or large spook will draw a strike in that situation, excruciating fishing but rewarding when you pull it off and less excruciating that going fish-less in a sea of fish...cast....long pauses between occasional twitches...they will eventually get curious enough to draw a bump......had a buddy that was a master at this and he used to drive me crazy pulling nice fish because he had the patience to do this and i did not

that sounds great except that with strong running current it isn't feasible. I was tossing 3 & 4 inch storm shads and slug-gos and I had more fish run into my line than my lures.:smash::wall:
