I feel terrible for the people who lost their live aboard. And I did realize after posting it should have been affect not effect in the title but I cannot fix it.

I made a 6am fuel run to Hull and was back in the river in front of Captains Cove as it just started.
Looked over and 1st thought it was an old dirty 2stroke starting up.
Quickly realized it was a fire aND pulled my boat into a slip 2 spots over from the Carver that started it.
Thought I could help put it out with my fire extinguishers but never even got off my boat because it went up so fast.
Backed out and watched.
About 15 minutes time 5 boats were burnin .

Wow. Just imagine how much fuel was involved. that makes for one fast, hot fire. I had a Pontiac Fiero burn up with a full tank on Route 495 back in the 80's and the flames were so incredible the police halted traffic across all 4 lanes. I can't imagine what a couple thousand gallons of diesel and several tons of fiberglass would do for heat. That's gotta be why it spread so far so fast. Glad no one was hurt. That's amazing in itself.
