Surf Asylum 3oz Darter

Hi all - Curious how you guys rig your 3oz SA darters. I think Dave recommends 3 cut 4/0 trebles, but I'd prefer to use only 2 trebles if possible - has anyone fished them with just a flag on the back?

Dont own one but always wanted one. Bet you could get away with a flag. If not, cut a 6/0 siwash into a flag. Weight will be close.

They are a copy of the large Pichney darter i believe at least the one i got from him several years ago looked similar and I also make the same darter out of birch, not sure what Dave uses, and I use 2 trebles and a siwash on rear and it swims awesome. A flag would most likely be good too. Maybe just PM him and ask him.

Thanks guys. I shot him a note, but was just curious what others have done. Appreciate the insight.
