Star rod repair
1 Attachment(s)
Could use a little advice
I've had two Star boat rods for years and they're showing their age. I spun them on the rod builder and used a mild 3m pad and soap to clean them up. I'd like to give them a coat of something and looking for suggestions. All the wraps are still in good shape on the carbeloid guides. Attachment 62682 |

I would just get the quick cure epoxy from CMS, seeing they're intact or ask Eric and Charlie and they'll be able to help you out
I think Mike from M and Ds might also still carry that stuff Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
Thanks Chris

Permagloss is what I've using for refinishing. It's made by U-40. You can re coat rod and guide wraps. I just redid a boat rod , honey lami. New guides and wet sand rod blank. 2 coats of Perma gloss prior to rewrapping guides. Need a ventilated area, dust free brush. Dries quickly .

^^^^^^^^^ I agree use Perma gloss is very thin goes on easy and drys fast with no big build up If you have a fast rod wrapper its a 5 min job |
