What did I inherit?
3 Attachment(s)
Question for you folks...what the HECK did I inherit? My wife's grandfather passed away many years ago and I was given his old tacklebox full of this stuff. I know he used to go to Canada fishing and lived in Maine, so I'm sure he fished up there but I have no idea what this stuff is. What's it used for and is it worth anything?
I also inherited a TON of fly fishing hear, some salt (nice Orvis 9wt setup that I can use) and mostly what appears to be fresh. Has to be over 300 flies! Won't bore you with those pictures...there would be a ton of them Thanks in advance! |
Mepps spinners, daredevil spoons mostly.
Good trout and salmon lures. The bigger spoons can be rigged for stripers Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
Damn, no Jake's Spin-a-Lures.

Years ago I sent away for a deal I saw on TV, for $19.95, a so-called starter kit for fresh water fishing. I still fished for trout at the time. Supposedly 30 or forty different lures, just like the ones pictured above, would arrive in ten days. Well what arrrived was four complete sets of lures. Al's goldfish, dare devils, you name it. It urned out to be a great deal.

Seem some Pixies and crocodiles in there as well. Would be great stuff for throwing around Alaska as well.

time to go to Maine or Canada and try your hand at salmon and trout fishing . All those spoons and spinners will catch tons of salmon and lake trout .
mepps spinners and daredevil spoons , crocodiles . The pixies work well in the Nome area . |
Bob that rod you got from me years ago might be a bit heavy for those:)
|
used a very similar Mepps spinner in the Anchor River in Alaska north of Homer and did very well. Over 2 days caught 4 very nice silver salmon.

Thanks, gang!
Found another box with more of, basically, the same crap. I don't do this type fishing anymore so off to the yard-sale they go...probably. |
