I'm in... uneventful shaKedown cruise. But DAMN it was cold with the damp north wind. BBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Splashdown for me will be this Thursday.....Westport River:hf1:

No boat to splash this year, but hitting Westport with the kayak tomorrow, looking forward to some schoolies on light tackle and maybe I can coax a few tog to come home with me too.

I splashed this morning. Short shakedown cruise, radio, GPS and sonar all working correctly. Motor purrs and new cables are a dream. I'm ready.

Got the boat in on Thursday...calm seas and a light wind...went out to a few rock piles out in the bay ...nada... came back and caught a couple of small stripers in the river.
Practiced my anchoring techniques in tight spaces around rocks and boat moorings in strong current....... need to work on that!

Gup....going on our forth season fishing with this boat, so it has a few dings, I'm more concerned about prop/lower unit getting damaged.:splat:

I had a great day on the water yesterday, caught a keeper before I had even left the harbor, then moved on and found fish in three different locations.
At one point I could see them following my lure back to the boat, sometimes there were two or three, saw one that was probably close to 30#. Switched to a different lure and caught a couple more before it was time to call it a day.

Woo hoo ! That's a god day for sure, nice going... :claps:
