This old Boat

Having a 32 year old boat you better be handy or rich.

Pulled the motors again to chase an oil leak, plus freshen them up a little (had them out 3 years ago also)

Trans coolers, preventative as the old ones did not have zincs

Cleaned all coolers and heat exchangers with muratic acid

Team Yanmar, This kid is the best helper I've ever had. He is really invested in this project!

ProfessorM 05-27-2016 06:48 PM

Nice Job Mike. They look brand new. How is the tower holding up?

Piscator 05-28-2016 08:43 AM

Mike, I'm not sure what happens more...me getting laid or you taking out those engines...nice work.

thefishingfreak 05-31-2016 01:48 PM

Spoke too soon. This is how we spent our Saturday. Oil was hemorrhaging from in between the block and the bellhousing, Thought it blew the rear main seal !

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y25...ps3tql0gvt.jpg

luckily I could pull just the trans out just lifting the block a little bit and removing the exhaust
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y25...psq3nvoipy.jpg

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y25...psrevjewv9.jpg

There's an oil passage that runs out the back of the block and through the bellhousing

Good job Mike.
Luckily you can do those kind of repairs.
You would have lost the entire season if not.

With boats........It's always something.
Now go fishing.

piemma 06-01-2016 12:38 PM

Great Job!! Good luck with the rest of the season.
