Last call for Cutty trip 2016
 

Nine going over on either Thursday or Friday morning ferry. Return Sunday early ferry. Beds available. Good trip. Great place. Last call. Going to be taking a break from planning this trip for at least next year...

partly cloudy to sunny, maybe some rain Saturday night, winds going right around the dial over the few days we are there but nothing too hard

changing forecast, barometer is dropping Sat night for rain after midnight into Sunday. Wet ride home it looks to be, but maybe some fish Saturday night. That and Colin making a swing by on Wednesday hopefully does not dirty up the water too much all around the island.

The Connecticut Surfcasters invite you guys to have hot dogs and burgers with us at noon on Friday at Pete’s Place. BYOB

Great trip, despite my not making the ferry on Friday AM.... Made the 1700 ferry over. John K and I explored the canal while we waited. My alternator stopped working at 0600 Friday, so I had to arrange for a tow and grab my brother's Suburban.
Some smaller fish were caught. but Rob had the high hook in numbers and weight. He mostly teamed up with PaulS and hit the SW corner on the midnight tides. Riggies for him, but someone from CSA had 40 fish Saturday night and was doing his damage with darters. Schoolies and up to 36-38 inch fish for the rest of the crew.
None for me, but I did not fish hard. Just being there with the crew, decompressing, sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee and gazing about was worth it. Also got a break from the pollen out there too.
Bernie Fish Raptor was a great addition to the family. Great conversations on all subjects from fishing to saving the world, to whether we really understand gravity. We always eat well.... As always, catching was a bonus.
Met two young guns from the Boston area who booked a room at the Club. Solid guys who I expect to join the board and join up for next year's trip.
And I did reserve the second weekend in June for 2017.......

Nice seeing my old friends from SB on the island.

Saturday sunrise as we headed out (late) for dawn patrol
