Very Sad.. I was out last Wednesday I heard a CG call asking mariners to keep a look out for an overdue 37 foot boat off block island

This is why if I go offshore to the claw or even stellwagen I leave a note with my wife on who I am with location color and hull id of the boat and when to consider me over due and for her call the CG

It's a horrible story with some crazy twists. I believe his father was murdered, and there's a billboard with a $250,000 reward up on the highway. I have followed this since the beginning because I knew the boat . It was pretty calm seas and for a 31 JC to go down that quick and there to be no distress call or Eperb distress signal however the Liferaft deployed and he was able to get in ,its baffling .

a few years ago he disappeared & was found down south . either he had just bought a car or was trying to buy one with 4K ??????????:bs:

This is a mother and son. It was the boy's grandfather, I believe, who was murdered.

He has Asperger's. When his horse died a few years ago, he went missing and turned up in VA.

Terrible and strange story.

Was it a JC? I thought it was a welded aluminum, the pics I saw all looked like a boat from Black Lab Marine...

Yes it was his grandfather that was murdered .
I'm pretty sure that is the JC with an aluminum deck and pilot house that was up in green harbor for a while . Sure looks like it .

Agree on the BLM aluminum - looks like a Seattle type boat.

Yep. The CT police have said the young man was a suspect in the murder of his grandfather, who was shot to death.

Sad, dark story unfolding.

People with Aspergers are not known to be violent. Lots more to come.

The kid that shot up the Newtown elementary school a couple of years back had Aspergers.

Adam Lanza, yes he did. This kid looks a lot more functional that Adam Lanza, who was a terribly broken kid...

Jim in CT 09-28-2016 11:12 AM

Gets weirder.

I read that the kid's attorney is one of the most well-known lawyers in CT, a grand-an-hour kind of guy. When I read that the kid's mom lived in Middletown, CT (a crappy city) I wondered where that $$ came from.

The murdered grandfather was a real estate developer. When he died, he left $42 million to his 4 children.

buckman 09-28-2016 11:18 AM

I think the boat sold for like 70 K .

As a teacher I have had multiple students with Aspergers (interestingly enough they no longer use that as a diagnosis, it now just falls under the Autism spectrum). These students are very highly functional, but can be very prone to mood swings that are unconsolable. I hope this was not the case with this fellow. I have a hard time thinking that he would have a monetary reason for this. But this also requires that the diagnosis of Aspergers was accurate in the first place. What a mess, just awful

Shooting from the hip, but he killed both of them for the money. The twist is that someone may have been in it with him for the gain.

he was worth around 300 million I read.

If he threw mom to the sharks, it will be hard to prove without a body or evidence they find in the homes, especially with him spending a week in a life raft. He can claim he'd be stupid to hope for a rescue that far out, how can I spend all that money if I'm dead at sea. Sounds like Gramps should have rethought how he spread that money around after his passing, especially after one of the kids goes mental on you over money.

thefishingfreak 10-01-2016 11:00 AM

Gramps was worth 300 million and was in the process of eliminating kids mother From the will, then takes a dirt nap. Kids mothers share was 42 million and the Kids next of kin after that.

"Mom can I buy a boat with heat?"
"Over my dead body"
