BI Fishworks Tourney

The Block Island Inshore Fishing Tourney

Sept. 26, 27 & 28, 2003
Benefiting the National Children’s Cancer Society

Back for this annual event in it's third year ~ we are once again joining forces with Sandy Point Fly Leader Co. to sponsor and organize this true grassroots tournament. Come on out to Block Island, Rhode Island and experience the great fishing Block Island has to offer. Fly, Spin, Boat, & Surf divisions/categories all go head to head in this unique lottery format where anything can happen. This year, instead of 24 hours as in the past two events, we have opted to extended the tourney the entire weekend. Kicking off on Friday evening at 6pm and running until Sunday 12 noon ~ we hope the extension of time will allow more fishermen the ability to compete. National and local businesses have donated generous prizes for winners. $35 dollar entry fee includes a tourney T-shirt and one ticket to the post event all you can eat and drink cookout. Check back soon for complete details. All of the proceeds will once again be donated to the...

MakoMike 08-07-2003 11:57 AM

Duke,
Don't forget that there is no striped bass fishing allowed more than 3 miles from the BI shore except on the north end between BI and Pt Judith.

JohnR 08-07-2003 01:17 PM

Hmmm - getting together on a house, eh?

Anyone interested? Todd brought this up earlier in the year: http://www.striped-bass.com/vbulleti...?threadid=6243

Duke41 08-07-2003 01:27 PM

Tod. Goose. 179, Scotchbonnet, Steve in Mass maybe? We could have quite a crew out there.

Bill L 08-07-2003 01:33 PM

I'm in!

Mr. Sandman 08-07-2003 02:07 PM

what are the awards? Cash? boats? 4wd vehicles? or just some equipment?

Scotch Bonnet 08-07-2003 03:06 PM

I am interested in this tourney. I would be willing to chip in on a house also. I freakin love that place. Maybe we could get 3-4 boats entered and everyone split the costs.

JohnR 08-07-2003 03:17 PM

Ahem - me too Duke - very interested!

Duke41 08-07-2003 03:25 PM

Mr. Sandman 08-08-2003 07:20 AM

I would love to go....but I am in a local thing for a month and plan to put a serious effort in this year. I do plan on making a trip to bi in later oct though... and two trips to cuttyhunk...one in early sept with the family and one in late oct or early nov with a buddy.

DRUMCORPFAN 08-08-2003 07:55 AM

i can do it, if you'll have me. i have no boat but i do just fine in the surf.:D

Goose 08-08-2003 07:55 AM

I'm up for that. I'ld rather do shore, bringing my boat is not out of the question but I'll only have one other fisher then my self in a 18.5CC.

JohnR 08-08-2003 08:42 AM

I'm 70/30 going to do the shore. Unless someone wants to pay for gas (lotsa gas) I'm Korkering - Goose - I know some hooooney holes over there :D. Bring Billy Goat :D

Duke41 08-08-2003 08:53 AM

This is a great response I will get on the housing situation this weekend. I am going to have at least one guy on my boat, I may be able to cycle a few of you on to her if you so desire. More info to follow.

JHABS 08-08-2003 12:48 PM

BasicPatrick 08-08-2003 01:24 PM

Damn,

I can't make it and I would really love in on this one:mad:

Oh yeah, I am going to be in the middle of three weeks on another storied island fishing in what is in my not so humble opinion the bestest tournamnet of all.

Sandman, I hope to meet you when I am down...we might have mutual friends

Mr. Sandman 08-08-2003 01:27 PM

3 weeks, nice! I'll be the guy with the huge bass at the weigh-in ....:D

Duke41 08-08-2003 02:48 PM

BI ain't Cheap

Did some home work today and we are not going to get any great deal from anyone so far. The best place so far is Champlains Marina in New Harbor. two nights for the price of one. It will costs about 80 per guy for a double room. I will probably stay there unless there is somewhere free I can put Surfrunner. Still waiting on the Realtors, they are very lazy. SO far it looks like the following guys are going.
Toonoc
Scotch Bonnet
JohnR
179
Drumcorp fan
Goose
Jhabs
Stripinline
Fishwewee.

devils fiddle 08-08-2003 07:18 PM

duke try paynes dock right now its a dollar cheaper a foot and there a very loose fun bunch. last year at the same time it was the sea-ray:smash: convention over at champlins. paynes is also only 200 feet from the weigh in. team devils and team trayder may be in as well.

Notaro 08-08-2003 10:00 PM

BasicPatrick 08-08-2003 10:05 PM
