Who came up with this genius idea???

Saw a mailer yesterday stating that Boston was going to give people the opportunity to vote early.

I'm talking NEXT WEEK through ELECTION DAY!

WTF...Now we'll have news stations calling the election each and every night, based on the results of that day!

Somehow this doesn't sound quite right, but then again I am a registered American citizen voter, so what do I know???

Nebe 10-18-2016 12:45 PM

doesn't it feel like the presidential race is now like watching Jerry Springer crossed with Judge Judy and a little bit of 90's WWF wrestling ?

Early voting is pretty common. I don't think they can release any results until they are reported on election day though.

Ever watch post-debate coverage? The countdown clock until polls close?

This is very common for folks that travel, elderly, military etc.. to mail in or vote early rather than not vote...

That's what I understand. I think it's a good idea .

Based on prior elections this makes me think "voter fraud".

The flyer that we received was stressing the idea of voting early with no reasoning other that possibly trying to get people to vote early and vote often!

If the polling locations operate like the one I usually vote at, then I could conceivably go from location to location and vote at each one.
(Or at least the ones in my area):scream:

I cannot recall being given the early vote option for any other election? Maybe their trying to get more of the "desired" party more votes, cause she will need all the votes she can "manufacture".

No, I was just stating I've never received the "early vote" option with any other election. I mean, with all the political ads they slam the networks with, wouldn't you think that they could have at least one that covers the early election option? All I see are the traditional mud slinging ads, the ones with all flash and no substance.

I saw one last night that was talking about it.

FishermanTim 10-19-2016 12:52 PM

I saw one earlier this week as well.

I just never saw that option offered before this year.
I knew about the "absentee ballot" option, but that was typically used for people that were serving abroad, and would not be in their home state to vote.
Now they are offering it as an option just to vote early.

My concern is the added possibility of voter fraud, since there will be multiple locations at the same days. (I know I'm probably barking up the wrong tree, but it's a concern non-the-less.)

I saw a billboard on my way home advertising voting early. They always allow it for absentee ballots, but I'm not sure if this is the same. Either way, I think it's a good thing for those who can't vote on Super Tuesday for whatever reason.

The Clinton News Network has been screaming all day about how 3.3 million people have already voted and " it's good news for Hillary" but the rules don't apply to them.

My town has 34 questions related to changes to the town charter, school planning and other things.

Early voting/absentee might be a lot easier; now I need to bring a cheat sheet with me when I go to the polls!

buckman 10-25-2016 11:55 AM

They sure are pushing this for some reason .
I voted yesterday and it was very busy .
