When and where to do a striper/fluke combo trip

My ten year old is becoming a good striper fisherman, but hasn't caught a fluke yet

Looking to do a striper/fluke trip.
Looking for suggestions on locations, time of year, or specific boats. Within a 3 hour drive from Hartford. Used to do these at block in June a LONG time ago.

Would also prefer to find a trip where striper fishing isn't limited to wire line trolling.

Thanks.

June July or early August around the Block. Eels work during the day too.

Thanks I didn't know the fluke season was that long out there. I've had some good striper outings using eels during the day out there, on light tackle in shallow water. Seems like most of the point Judith fleet concentrates more on trolling wire, which to me, sometimes feels like punishment.. productive yes, fun no.

This past nov I stuck a 26 pounder that had an 11" fluke in it. Does that count? I reported the striper to DEM for posessing undersized fluke and they were going to lock him up but showed up after dinner. LOL
Lots of boats out of Niantic. I am sure you can find a rod and reeler by calling around down there.

If willing to travel to Newport Give Capt Rob Taylor a call. Newport Sportfishing charters. Crush big bass in the morning and then fluke until you limit.

Check out BJ Silvia of Flippin Out Charters. He specializes in multi species charters out of Newport - if its too rough outside he and Rob Taylor both have the luxury of quickly duck ing into Narragansett Bay for a more comfortable experience.

If it is just the 2 of you, call Mike Roy of Reel Cast charters, he runs a small Steiger CC and mostly targets stripers, but I am sure he would add a fluke after the stripers trip, and he'll tell you when to do it.
