Been going nuts in Kingston, MA for a few days now. Also getting pics of some freshwater action from my cousin is giving me that old fashioned romantic feeling.

None in Northern RI but if we don't get frozen tonight and tomorrow, I'm thinking next week.

Heard them Monday night.

Quiet last night.

Pervs....


No actually small amphibious inhabitants of many local vernal pools and ponds. When they get their "chorus" singing, it can carry quite a distance. After them will come the toads and tree frogs with their own "brand of music".

I look forward to it every spring, almost as much as I look forward to first ice in December....

Peepers here now frog cubes. They make for interesting cocktails.

Red wing blackbirds made an appearance.

Once I hear peepers and the common grackles show up, it's time to pull the bird feeders and get the gear ready.
