transducer swap and install lesson

always use 4200 for transducer installs or you'll be dealing with my current situation if you ever plan on upgrading. Previous owner used 5200 on a an airmar b744 with a fairing block. 2 days later finally got it off. What a PIA. 2 guys sledgehammers, crowbars, grinders, sweat finally got it out. Only plus is the new xducers line up with the existing holes.

Thin putty knife and a propane torch I would have had that removed in 10 minutes.

didn't trust myself with a torch on the boat. Had a heat gun but it didn't do much.

Torch is not to heat the hull but to heat the thin putty knife.
A good heat gun to the stem of the transducer (inside the hull by the but) heating the stem long enough would work also.
1st heat to remove nut, then more heat , some push from the inside & some pull from below it would have popped out.
Easy peasy Japaneese

Great stuff. Just took 2 sets of rod racks off the sides of my livewell and filled the holes with 5200. Hardens like a rock.

Also good for the ground down corners of your coolers. Now stop dragging them!
