Kayak fishing?
 

Anybody here doing it? Would like to hear about how its done and what it takes. Open ocean or backwaters? What tackle works? What type of kayak? Rod holders? etc.

There was a thread on this it was about 6 pages if you search i'm sure you could find it try "kayak"

I paddle a Wilderness Systems Tarpon 160 (yellow) with 2 RAM Tube holders and a flush mount.

Tube n' worm is the ticket! I've had about 150 stripers this year on the TnW!

Do you have a yak?

Thanks I'll check for those pages. I don't have a kayak, but I have been seeing more and more on it lately and may check it out.

Just finished reading the suggested posts. The more I read about yak fishing the better it sounds. I would like to hear about anyone putting an electric motor on a kayak. (sacrilege?)

I was gonna put an el. motor on my Cobra.... then I got a tarpon 160. I've been fishing out of it all summer. It's great to scout out places to fish in the fall. I have found structure and rocks where there is no signs of them from shore.

I found a couple of nice spots to sling eels and do some plugging during the fall run.:D

I've got a Cobra Tourer covered with fish slime.

I've been considering getting a yak but my biggest concern is being confided to such a small area. How comfortable are those seats. How long can you fish before you aRSe starts talkin to ya? I hear good things about the Cobra. I can think of some fishy waters that I wouldn't try with a boat.

I rec-o-mend getting the best possible seat for yaks...most manufactuers offer better seats as options....pick the most expensive one and just buy it....it is worth every penny.

I don't want to know why that fish is laying there !!
