Tile question
I am tiling a wall with 12 x 12 slate. Not graded but between 1/4 and 3/8" thick. I have a saw to cut but my question is:
Should the one tile I cut to fit the area be at the top or the bottom? |
I'd lay the tile out first to ensure if you started with a full tile at the bottom you don't have a sliver at the top.

After you get everyone's advise, just ask the wife and do what she says. It's a good rule to live by when modifying something she will see every day.

Snap level line 36.5" down from ceiling. Then go find the high and low spot of the ceiling and floor. (I added half inch assuming a 1/4 inch grout line. adjust as you see fit) Next, measure down to floor to see what you will have for cut tile, again adding the 1/4 inch between tiles. Then the question is if you are going to have a baseboard in either tile or wood? Usually I see the cut at the floor.

I'd do the short one on the bottom.

think about your eyes line of sight
you'd notice the cut tile more at the top than the bottom |
Thanks guys. I got it.
