We lost another one: Chris Brumstead/Vermonter

With a heavy heart, I bear this sad news: Chris/Vermonter has passed away. :(
I had been sending him some messages and he usually was a bit slow to respond since he had to listen to his voice messages in the evening once he got home. I hadn't heard from him in a bit so I searched the obituaries. :(

In the past he would call me on his way home and stop over to chew the fat for a bit before he headed home to VT. Over the past few years I hadn't been in touch with him as much because of family issues. We always had a good time talking about all aspects of fishing, woodworking and home repairs. :) Last time I saw him I noticed he was coughing more than usual and he always said he knew the cigarettes were bad for him, but ...... RIP, Chris: I'll miss you my friend & I will see you on the other side some day. :)

Peace to you my brothers. Be safe everyone.

This hits a little deeper as I am same age and reading about the cigs.....

Nothing hurts as much as when you have a "gut feeling" about someone's health, but there's nothing you can do for the person except trying to comfort them.

Before my father passed from lung and brain cancer, My mother and I noticed certain things that seemed out of place. Although my dad was strong man and hard worker, seeing him (when he thought that no one could see him) sitting in a room with his head in his hands made me think that he knew something was wrong.

Fortunately for us he was able to spend his last days at home with family.

Hopefully Chris had the same support around him.

All we can do in the end is to continue to keep them in our hearts and minds, and whenever possible, bring them up so that they will never be forgotten.

That's how someone can live on and on....through the memories of friends and loved ones!
