Any water, any depth. Put a piece of squid on a 5/0 hook or so, and they will find you! Later.

jeffery's or tillies ledge. or the north east corner of Stellwagon
bank.

What species will I run into out there, blues, mako, thresher? Just curious.

spcantwell 08-20-2003 12:57 PM

you'll probably catch 100 blues to every mako you'll hook.
I have never seen any threshers out there. you may catch
a Porgegal which may be mistaken for a Mako. on an average
day, you should catch 10 to 20 blues between 75 and 250 lbs.

SHARK WEEK CONTINUED: Swimming with the seals

AVILA BEACH, Calif. — A 50-year-old woman died when a shark attacked her as she swam with seals Tuesday morning near the pier of this tiny beach town near San Luis Obispo, authorities said. Deborah Franzman of Nipomo, Calif., was swimming as she did several times a week near some buoys about 75 yards offshore when the rare attack occurred about 8:20 a.m. "The water was full of blood," said Antonio Neotti, 15, an aspiring lifeguard who watched four lifeguards swim through the surf to rescue her. "They pulled her out on the beach," he said. "She was not conscious. It looked like she was bitten in her hip and her upper thigh."

So when all the seals suddenly scattered, wonder if she thought why. Hmmm and I'm here all alone now...

Still a bad thing, but moral of the story...
don't swim with bait that looks like you do.

I've heard reports of 20+' Whites seen off of Chatam. I also have seen more seals this year close to shore then ever. I heard that there has never been a report of an attack in MA. I just hope when I'm wading I look more like a post then a seal.

Its been on my mind since the sharks were spotted off Narragansett last month.
The news stations were like " The sharks are aparantly following bluefish and striped bass into the shallow water"
Great, I follow bluefish and bass into shallow water.
