I need to get a new set of chisles and recomendations as to what is the best and what is a good value for the money? Thanks

Buck Bros. from Home Depot $29.95 for 4 or 5 chisels good value for the money. I started with these and moved on to Sorby's, more money but more comfortable to work with and worth every penny IMHO.

Agree with NG, Sorbys are a good set. Not cheap, but good. 3/4 inch gouge and 1 inch skew are all that I use.
