The new Canal
So... like an idiot, after working in Plymouth today I decide to go to nitwit land for a few hours at dusk.
Where I parked there are 2 Nissan 240’s, fully tricked out driftmobiles, with rod racks and rods galore. Looked like some Buddhist monks inside watching the water for any signs. Not the place I remember. Sucks getting old. I’ll be bobber fishing in a lawn chair soon.😳 |

There is still the Noreasters in the fall, waves crashing on the beaches and bass in the wash, won't be any car fishermen there then. Otherwise,I'll be next to you in some trout pond
this thread should be in the grumpy forum you old fart |

Have not gone yet this season and will not be any time soon! Surf gear has not made it out of the basement yet and I am toying with the idea of selling my canal bike! I am a full time kayak fisherman now! No crowds and so many options!:btu:

I haven’t been to the canal yet this year. I use to fish it a couple times a week at night and would see the same few guys and loved the solitude. I would always give at least a poles distance between me and another person and it was never a problem. Last year I went down around 10 pm. Had a place to myself for a couple hours and was hammering the fish. A group of 3 guys set up shop within 10 feet of me, I left. Haven’t been back yet. Funny thing happened back in the day. I was parked at the bulkhead near the power plant, hopped on my bike and came back a few hours later and realized I left my driver side door wide open. Nothing got touched but there were only a handful of trucks in the lot.
