the party of science releases the Green New Deal
Within ten years...no fossil fuels, but no nuclear plants to generate electricity either. No domestic airline service, but high speed rail
in every state. public banks everywhere extending credit to pay for all this. Requiring that every building and structure in the nation ( every home, every office) be retrofitted with green technology. oh, and a living wage even for those unwilling to work. and possibly the elimination of cows. that’s hard science, boy. Is Alexandra Ocasio Cortez actually a GOP plant? that is starting to look feasible. She can’t be this stupid. |

Jay Leno will have millions of dollars of cars he can’t drive, but global warming does require changes, obviously that will be determined by what legislation can be passed. Last year was the 4th warmest on record and the warmest top ten have happened since 2000, so anyone on this planet with a brain should see the trend and the consequences.

Don’t know enough about it to comment, but technology will need to accelerate innovation to reduce emissions and slow warming, or generations from now might want to watch some sci-fi movies to get a glimpse of the future.

instantly become one of the worlds wealthiest people, so the incentive is there. the science doesn’t exist yet. we can accept that, or we can deny it. i thought the left didn’t like denying science, i guess that depends on whose ox ( or farting cow) is getting gored. there isn’t enough open space to power the country with solar and wind. there isn’t enough space to put the panels and turbines that would be necessary. nuclear power could produce the electricity very cheaply, but they are opposed to that. maybe we’ll all be required to walk around, rubbing balloons on our heads, to produce the electricity. and a living wage for those unwilling to work), by new banks who will offer “credit”. because it’s that simple. seriously, is she a GOP plant? Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
The darling of the Trumplican Party proposes to eliminate Illegal migration, asylum seekers, drug addiction and get rid of all illegal aliens by Building a wall and it will all be paid for by Mexico, because it's that simple.
After that he'll have a couple of summit meetings with dictators he really likes and solve all the worlds issues. And then he'll fix trade imbalances by imposing tariffs selectively on imports. He'll also make coal great again. |
.......and Trump.

Not sure this was a Trump topic until PeteF. anointed it so.

When did he say that we can eliminate anything? AOC authored the Green Deal, no one disputes that. You are saying that Trump feels illegal crossings and drug imports will go to zero if we build a wall. He never said any such thing. He is proposing things that he thinks will help, he never said anything is a perfect solution. Once again, you respond to something that no one has ever said. Becoming a pattern with you. You're hearing Trump voices in your head. |
No, the issue is that when Trump proposes simplistic solutions to problems that are not fully developed, they are accepted by his supporters and ridiculed by his opponents.
They should then get further development and possibly become legislation. Not all propositions become legislation. Sounds a lot like this proposition. |

"they are accepted by his supporters and ridiculed by his opponents." Hmmm. one of his opponents is the guy that Obama chose to be the head of the entire Border Patrol, who Trump fired. That guy doesn't like Trump. But he says that Trump is right for supporting the expanded wall. Bit what would he (the guy picked by Obama to head the entire Border Patrol) know about it? Not as much as Chuck Schumer, obviously. |
When he first said he would build a wall, did you think it was a fully developed idea?
"I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I’ll build them very inexpensively," Trump said, announcing his candidacy on June 16, 2015. "I will build a great, great wall on our southern border. And I will have Mexico pay for that wall." He then went on, and does to this day, in leading his followers in ritual chants of "Build the Wall". Is that untrue? Has it been developed into a more mature proposal in the meantime? And is it as simplistic as the original idea? Funny how that works, but when the scary AOC proposes something, you complete the plan and judge it a failure, and claim all is impossible. |

Jim, you may have found a trend on the left. Seems like these two have a lot in common..... |

Trump's wall would go unnoticed by most of us (but in my opinion, as well as the opinion of most border patrol experts, it would reduce illegal crossings). The Green New Deal would be a catastrophe for all of us. |

Second grade arithmetic. "What plan did you analyze?" The Green New Deal. "There’s a reason some people never get out of cubicles" I have a lot of time left. |
