Its February, and I never covered my boat...
I realized on a recent shoreline visit to check on
my property/ boat, that I never called my shrink wrap guy to cover my boat in November... Its sitting on a jacked up trailer in my yard in RI. so, what's my move in your opinion? its mid february... let it ride? pay to have it done? What could happen to it but leaving it uncovered? It only had a few leaves in it, and has a self bailing deck. its a 19' center console with T top. Inside actually looks cleaner than when I wrap it... no mildew! |
You might need to change your name to Clammer

&&&&&&&&&& look @ the wasted money you didn,t spend last fall :wid: |
Well the boat doesn’t melt in the water. I don’t think a little snow will either.
My friends boat was just covered a few weeks ago by his marina after asking them to do it in October. He is pissed feeling what did he pay for. ??? It is alllot. Like 800$. He really wants to not pay full price. Can’t blame him. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
keep the leaves out of the scuppers

Shrink wrapping is not just to keep weather out but also UV rays. This is important if you have any varnished brightwork or electronics that are out in the exposed elements.

I have the center console covered,
Im just thinking, shoot... its almost march... I made it this far, I just dont want water getting into something and freezing/cracking. Knowing my luck , I would call the guy and it would get wrapped in the spring! as far as the guy who paid that marina to wrap it in october, I would definitely be demanding a discount, and inspect for any damage. at the end of the day, i'm just a surfcaster that happens to own a boat mainly for family day-time fun around pt. judith. I've had it for 9 years and im still learning things through trial and error... (have no idea how to use my fish finder... there are non stop "fish" icons on my screen that never translates to any fish hahah |
no varnished brightwork ><><:shocked::shocked:

We’ve had quite a few days below freezing temps, some well below.
Ide be concerned about any areas that collected water & froze. I assume you atleast winterezed ? Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
By "Winterized" ........
Well, I *removed drain plug and store tilted *stabilized fuel, Fogged engine, changed lower unit oil |
Pull the batteries
Disconnect supply lines to washdown/baitwell pump and a little antifreeze to head if you have one..... A guy in town has had water in his washdown pump freeze and blow up his pump each of the past three years.... |
Big difference between not winterizing and not shrink wrapping. I never shrink wrap my boat and never regretted that decision. I always winterize all of the water systems.
