Not me yet, but seeing pics of fish from the beach all over NE it seems.

Working in RI lately, so I should probably pack some gear into the R Wagon this week.

Just rigged up three rods this morning, just waiting for this weather to break, then its a quart of crabs and off I go.

May 9th and Im junk 😂 got in at 3am from squid and alarm going off at 6am for work. Its going to be a coffee fueled day.

I'm done for a couple weeks, but my buddies are into 15-20# fish out front. A lot of pogies around...

Boy, I remember those days Vic. Miss them too. 2:45 AM now and off to work but I went to bed at 7:00 PM

I got a 32 # fish yesterday. My buddy topped me by 10 pounds today. CT River

marking plenty of bait and schools of schoolies beyond that it's a waiting game

please PM how you Target them I only know them as squeteague and never caught one in the river

For some reason, east Greenwich cove is the place to target them

FWIW, there is usually a run of them off the West Haven beaches around the middle of this month.

Damn, both river monsters. Nice work.

There have been some good fish all along the coast early this season it seems (you called it)

I grew up in West Haven, and many years ago there was a stretch of 4-5 years where you could reliably target them and catch a couple every tide. It was the only place in the state I knew of where you could target them. Then I moved away, haven't been there in a LONG time, I wondered if that fizzled out.

I’m in no rush this weather and my older bones would rather wait.

Fishing everyday. Small flyrod stuff so far. Trout before that. It's all good.

I've been messing around close to home with the worm hatches. fun on the fly rod. I've been taking my wife with me, she never has fished before (she would never go with me in CT), and she got her first dozen bass the other night, she had a blast...

but like an idiot I let her use the new stella, and now she claimed it as hers whenever we fish together...

Fished 3 hours last night in the sleet and pouring rain, it brought back memories of bye gone days when I fished into November, only difference.,back then the fish were bigger and there were more of them, I caught 9 "giants "last night that if laid nose to tail (all 9) I might have made a comercial keeper..the boats staying on the dock until the air temperature reaches 65...enough of this foolishness.
