2019 proposed Federal Cod & haddock regs.

In the Gulf of Maine:
Haddock: 15 fish bag limit, 17 inch minimum size, season May 1 - Feb. 29 and April 15 - 30.
Cod: I fish bag limit, 21 inch minimum size, season Sept. 15 - 30 and April 15 - 30.

outside the Gulf of Maine:
Cod: 10 fish bag limit, 21 inch minimum size, open all year
Haddock: no regs, basically no bag limit, any size and open all year.

15 haddock is too many and the no bag is ridiculous. 10 fish is plenty. they manage the haddock fishery ok but i'm not crazy about the max sustainable yield model and wish we'd get some bigger fish. there used to be good numbers of 6-8# fish, and for cod - give us 1. 2 15 day seasons is a joke - especially because during the first season no one is fishing

Got to love that imaginary underground wall at the 42’ line that keep all the cod south
