Libs stance on nuclear power?
in france, the #1 producer of energy are the nuclear power plants. i’m curious to know if the climate change advocates here, support
the building of those plants? it’s a sincere question, no sarcasm or anything... |

I too see it as a need if done safely and with good solid planning, however when a plant like Plymouth would be typically powered down and buttoned up in 6-8 years, it worries me when a company comes in saying they will do it in 2-3.

I’m all for it but it needs to be done right and maintained right. It’s the ultimate green energy source for when the sun sets and the wind dies.

Nuke power is to expensive the waste issue hasnt been resolved .. we cant even protect critical infrastructure.. see drone attacks on Saudis oil operations .. nuke power pants look great on paper and it ends there .. France get 40% from nukes but is the size of Texas.. it should be a possibility but theres no will for it

The technology is there. It’s the cost that is prohibitive. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
On a national scale, the Smithsonian's migratory bird center estimated the number of deaths to be between 100 million and one billion birds annually
just an FYI. By skyscrapers and building alone Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

be needed to power 300 million people. your boat doesn’t have central air or a microwave or a washer/dryer does it? we use a to of electricity, my wife and kids are home in the summer, cranking the a/c and the electric pool heater. the august before i got panels, my monthly electric bill was $550, so we put panels on my entire roof ( we have no tall trees, get a ton of sun), it produces almost exactly what we use. but it killed a lot of birds, and the panels need to be disposed of someday. save the birds
"Workers at a state-of-the-art solar plant in the Mojave Desert have a name for birds that fly through the plant's concentrated sun rays - "streamers," for the smoke plume that comes from birds that ignite in midair. Federal wildlife investigators who visited the BrightSource Energy plant last year and watched as birds burned and fell, reporting an average of one "streamer" every two minutes, are urging California officials to halt the operator's application to build a still-bigger version." |

our panels, we found 3-5 dead, cooked birds in our pool and on our deck, every day. it was beyond disgusting. the company agreed to come out and out screens up around the panels to keep them out, not before we scraped at least 100 dead birds off the deck. better for the environment? the birds would say no.
