Fishing Bibs
Thinking about getting some new fishing bibs... Anyone have any they's like to recommend? Good price / good quality?

I stopped wearing a bib after I learned to feed myself ( RECENTLY ). Oh you mean rain pants with a front up to your chest . Bibs LOL grundens is all I know worth the cash .

For one, I can honestly say that half the stuff at Cafe press sucks :laughs: Looking for a combination breathable / waterproof bib pants to use from the beach or when on the boat.... |

John,
They aren't breathable, but for the money its tough to beat the good old Helly's. I have one set going on fifteen years now and its still going strong. |
JohnR, try Eastern Mountain SPorts, they are on the pricey side but there own brand of rain gear is pretty good, they carry bibs and regular pants. If you check aorund now you may be able to get a decent price on them. Mine are breathable and I really like them on the boat or shore.

late but....I got mine at Boat US. Water proof and breathable. It has more pockets then most other bibs I've seen. Qaulity front zipper and wide velcro also has reinforced knees n butt, front warmer pockets lined w/fleece. Still pee w/o taking off your rain top and can be thrown in washer. I think its more comfortable then Grudens if your gonna mainly sport fish.

Helly or grunden pants over West marine deck boots. You can take spray all day, fishguts, blood, slime and hose yourself off when done. Forget breathables, they ain't worth it. The rubba pants are loose enought to let in enough air move around.
Frankly I have been disappointed with my new breathable waders...they ain't that breathable. I fished a few times this summer in them and they are better then the rubba marathons and much easier to walk in but they still hold moisture (they were wet on then inside when I got out...It was a warm humid night but I expected better) . I am concerned that they will be cold in the late fall... Also the aquaskinz top is like an air tight plastic bag...I was sweating like a pig the other night...I think they will be better in the fall when it is cooler. |

Aside from the breathable/non-breathable issue if anyone knows where one might find bib's in extra long I'd certainly appreciate the info. I haven't found any place yet. Going with XL or XXL doesn't get you the length. It's really a pain with long legs to have to loosen the straps so the crotch is around your knees just so you get enough length so your boots don't take on water.
