John was a great guy! Always loved seeing him at MSBA meetings, shows, where ever! I missed seeing him in recent years due to his declining health......he will be missed going forward.

I am going to go out and get some Highland Park 12. I went and visited him a couple years ago (wish I had last year!@!!) and he broke out the good stuff. http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripert...1&d=1488733490 http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripert...2&d=1488733490 |
Johnny Pollock! Now there was a one of a kind! He would make you feel he was your best bud in the world! No matter it had been a year or two since you last saw him. I think he was that way with many of us. I will have to do a search for some old pics of him on the trips. Funny bastid he was! Only guy I ever saw drive right up to the edge of the dock for the ferry over to Cuttyhunk with handicap license tag hanging on his car's mirror! Thought he was going to stick his tongue down Bonnie's throat when he realized she was going to give him a ride to the Club his first trip out there. He "didn't count on that much marching." We only let him fish "alone" at sunset, pretty much in sight of the Clubhouse lawn. His last trip I think he only fished the first evening. He was just happy as a clam to be out on island with the boys. He would crank out a great breakfast for all, then sit back and enjoy his "tea" and the banter on the Club porch. Johnny, you always put a smile on my face!

He was a character for sure. Met him at a couple of s-b events and he stood out big time.

Anyone find an obituary? All I found was a very brief announcement with no details.

That is all I saw. He was Navy so he had at least (hopefully) a Veterans Burial. I could not find anything on the VA locator. I would like to find where he is and pour him a Highland Park. Drinking one in remembrance right now. https://www.everhere.com/us/obituari...llock-10085700 |
