spring haddock in shallow water?

This is a fishery that I really want to do with my oldest son (13), but we haven't gotten around to it yet. From what I understand, the bite in shallow water on Stellwagon was nothing in 2019 compared to what it had been the last couple of years. Are we thinking that fishery may not be what it was, or just an off year, or am I wrong that 2019 was off?

Dying to do a spring haddock trip, and a summer fluke trip to Nantucket Shoals. Dying.

True, last spring wasn’t lights out like 3-4 years ago and only fishing 90-100 ft but it was still productive for those who know how to find them.
Every year is different but last fall was very good for me just off Stellwagen.
Fish were in 180-230 ft.

You sent me 19 messages last spring/summer. And never booked a trip. There’s plenty of haddock out there. You don’t know if you don’t go

The recreational haddock fishery is only limited by the cod by catch. If we didn't have a large cod by catch haddock limits would be something like 40-50 fish per man.

For private charter for just you and your boy hands down go Niko.

He will spend the time and fuel to find the haddock.

And often the haddock are only 8 miles out of green harbor , scituate area vice the 15 - 20 mile run to the bank.
