democrats kill virus relief bill
they said it had too much money for corporations, not enough going to people.
there’s some good stuff in there... large companies taking money cannot buy back stock for two years. small companies taking money don’t have to pay it back if they keep employees on payroll ( that’s generous and compassionate). student loan payments waived for 6 months up to $3,000 for most families of four, who may get it twice. $6k is meaningful to all but the wealthy. there will be bailout money for airlines, no choice. Maybe Pelosi didn’t think enough was going directly to Planned Parenthood. |
it's a good look for the dems

My friends company has closed 138 stores in the country and has a payroll of 7M per day. They have a 1.5 B line of credit which they have already borrowed. 3 weeks ago they celebrated their best quarter in history and now they are hanging on. Banks will be upside down in a hurry.

And yet we are supposed to act quickly. Taking time, it is said, will kill people. Apparently not. We need to keep negotiating until we get it just right, or left enough for Pelosi.
|
Has ANYONE explained the need for this language:
"the amounts of individual loans or loan guarantees may be disclosed on a delayed basis of up to 6 months" Which Mnuchin could use to keep payments to, say, the Trump* Org secret for six months? |
Clean bills.
Single subject. Page limit. Rat a tat tat. Mega bills are always opportunities for lobbyists and ideologues on both sides to play #^&#^&#^&#^&around. |
it’s reported ( by Senator Tom Cotton, honors graduate of Harvard and a combat infantry officer) that the democrats want the aid bill modified to include expanded collective bargaining for labor unions, and larger tax credits for wind and solar.
Because that matters when we’re trying to keep unemployment from quadrupling in a month. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
Don’t forget trying to sneak in a little student debt forgiveness also.

is this the bill McConnell said he didn't want to discuss w/the Dems. or wanted their input but now he wants their votes on it?

The way I see it, all those politicians are fighting over how many crumbs they are going to dole out to the people to keep the dust on the guillotine.

FREE money to small businesses if they agree to keep employees on payroll, is "crumbs"? Waiving student loan payments for 6 months is crumbs? You can't say there's good stuff in there that makes sense, because Orange Man Bad. |

Did you see trumps post of Nero playing the fiddle the night before the market crashed ?? He knew as well. They made millions and will make millions more. Yes... crumbs. Which we will have to pay back in the form of higher taxes at some point Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

Mnuchin had previously bargained in the House with Pelosi representing the Democrat interests and Mnuchin the Republicans and they reached an agreement. |

That's not the way it happened (it can't be the way it happened, because that scenario would not support my view that liberal=good, conservative=bad). Do your homework, read the articles. The truth is right there. |
this will all be over ... this will all be over.... this will all be over...... one day. :hidin:

Are dems leveraging abortion crap during this crisis too? Zero shame if true

i’m not hearing anyone saying that the dems still want abortion funding. What they apparently want in there, is increased collective bargaining rights for labor unions, more money for wind/solar subsidies, and harsher emissions standards for airlines. That’s according to Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas who i love. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

Who will you blame the death panels on here? Not the one who takes no responsibility at all, I’m sure. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

When Foxnews and MSNBC say the same thing, i presume it’s true. You know more. Kudos to you. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

"Wow... @kasie just reported that Republicans' objections to the House Democrats' emergency coronavirus bill include issues related to abortion. What does that have to do with COVID19...?" I find nothing else about her "swearing it is true" or "calling out democrats" unless it is a fox news or other rw nutter analysis of what that tweet means. Pelosi never included funding for abortion. It was Republican concern over lack of specificity about the Hyde amendment in the bill. They worked it out. It is a lie or spreading of incorrect information to say Pelosi included abortion funding. Stop spreading lies. Heading back under my rock now. |
