Custom Rod Value
3 Attachment(s)
Yesterday while fishing for smallies on a local pond, I wished I had a second lighter spinning outfit for a smaller hair jig and the more I fish out of a kayak, the more I realize bait casting outfits really are awkward to fish if I can't stand. I'm considering selling one of my custom rods, to finance the purchase of a new rod and reel, what do you think is a fair price for this one. Blank is a Lamiglass GW78MH, 6'6" and rated for 3/8-1-1/2oz, fugi hardloy guides, burl cork handle and obviously custom closed butt wrap and guide wraps. Probably sell less the reel, or with as it's nothing special a Lews low end conventional.

Couldn't you use this in the yak for bottom fishing? Looks like a nice light fluke rod

Short answer. Not as much as you’d think.
To build that rod today would be $250ish just in material. And then another $150 in labor or more if someone thinks there time is worth it. But the bottom line is you built it or had it built for you. Not the new owner. Plus you can get a good rod at the store for c note. If you got $125 -150 I think that is fair. It should be more. I know what goes into doing that but most people don’t. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
