Any reason you couldn't run a 4" strip through a table saw? I've nevefr with the material, but it looks like solid plastic of some kind.

Thanks, gents. I am just balking at the price of the Stern Saver on principle. Probably over thinking this. Limiting new holes in a 1993 hull makes sense to me, but I have yet to sink or wreck a boat by mounting a transducer in all these years..... If I do mount a plate, I will just use trim board, like Azek, as I do have plenty of that around the shop. Ease the edges with a round over bit. It will have black bottom paint and be below waterline anyway.....

Ross... Use PVC trim. Glue up 2 pieces, with 5200, then 5200 to stern. Works like a charm, done it twice on 2 different boats. I cut some shallow cuts in the PVC to assist in bonding, although i don't think it's necessary.

Dammit... I didn't even read you're new plan. DOH!
