got connected with freshwater guide Paul Mueller in the northwest corner of CT. took me and some cub scouts to Candlewood Lake yesterday, we boated 50+ fish - smallmouth, white perch,
yellow perch, calico bass. I’ve never eaten those before, they were really good. highly recommend this guide, he knows his stuff, and he was awesome with the kids.

We have some of the biggest yellow perch that I've ever seen in the lake behind my house. Some small scale local comms have fish traps set out, way out from the shore.
