bill maher rips liberals for being wrong on covid facts
Maher isn’t known to be a right wing nut, despite what spence might say.
If it’s a flaw for conservatives to be wrong on the science behind climate change, why are liberals exaggerating the threat of covid? it can’t be that they’re using covid for political gain, could it? He also admits what what everyone knows, that Desantis kicked Cuomos ass in terms of protecting seniors ( and florida’s case counts are dropping like a rock the last few weeks, which none of the lefties felt compelled to mention, though they enthusiastically posted when Florida’s numbers spiked). Party of science? It seems that both parties are willing to defy science to win elections. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCSpY0z8_yc |
This is pretty sloppy for Maher. The stat he calls out was about unvaccinated people, not people in general.
If you read the actual survey it also mentions things like ... Quote:

YAHOO DeSantis's critics fall silent as Florida's COVID-19 cases drop Tue, October 19, 2021 NEWSWEEK -According to data from The New York Times. At a seven-day average of about 2,600 new cases per day, Florida is experiencing one of the lowest case counts (per 100,000 people) of any state. Florida's rate is lower than that in all but two states. On a per capita basis over the past seven days, Florida has had fewer cases than every state in the contiguous United States, with the exception of California. Data from a Johns Hopkins University tracker shows the Sunshine State hasn't seen a significant surge in vaccinations over the past several months, and it's unclear exactly why cases are trending downward. |

And we can only wonder why you excluded October? Could it be because Floridas numbers are getting better, now that the weather has cooled and people can spend time outside again? "And comparing Cuomo to DeSantis is just stupid." Hey, you got one right! Desantis didn't order nursing homes to admit covid-positive residents and then fudge the numbers. https://www.yahoo.com/now/desantis-c...110000651.html "came at a time when we didn't understand much about Covid" We knew that it was going to hit the elderly the hardest, we knew that when Cuomo forced nursing homes to admit covid-positive residents. My company sells professional liability to nursing homes, I was on calls with lawyers and NY nursing homes all day long, wondering why the heck he was doing what he was doing. But you can't criticize Cuomo. Anyway, if there's some reason why we should only judge Florida based on its worst three months, and ignore what's happened since then, I'm all ears. |

People are moving to FL in huge numbers. They aren't doing so because they want to die from covid. |

Not every state is seeing the improvement FL is seeing. It's not just a function of Florida having nowhere to go but down. If what you said isn't pure bullsh*t, why isn't "nearly every state" doing as well as CA and FL? |

They are also the counties that guess who won or did best in. That being said, the Delta variant seems to run thru the population quickly. Luckily for the vaccinated it rarely requires hospitalization, but not for those who are not vaccinated. We will see what the next variant brings, the larger the infected pool the greater the chance of variants developing. Covid is perfectly willing to play the game and the bigger the field, the better it does. |

Sick people were admitted to nursing homes. I work in this industry. They were forced back into homes after they left the hospital, very different from being fully recovered and no longer contagious. Look it up. |
