John’s Hopkins says lockdowns were useless, should be rejected
|
Jim once again carry the the water of outrage of the right
Johns Hopkins professor blasts his OWN college and the mainstream media for not publicizing study that found COVID lockdowns only reduced deaths by 0.2% because it doesn't fit their 'narrative' Dr. Martin Makary warned that 'people may already have their own narrative written' about the effectiveness of lockdowns in an interview with Tucker Carlson Wednesday night. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Makary has been an outspoken opponent of vaccine mandates, CDC policies, and restrictions at colleges and universities.[4][5] He has been repeatedly criticized by infectious disease specialists for overstating the protection offered by previous COVID-19 infection and for making public health recommendations "beyond his area of expertise" that have been characterized as dubious and misleading Gov. Glenn Youngkin has named a respected physician who opposes blanket vaccine mandates and downplayed the threat of the coronavirus to children as his lead adviser on pandemic response. The choice of Marty Makary, a Johns Hopkins surgeon and Fox News contributor, signals that Youngkin (R) will upend the approach of outgoing governor and pediatric neurologist Ralph Northam (D) to public policy at a critical time in the pandemic, political science and health experts say. Its such a poly to keep the gullible base in line .. and it's out in the open |

The problem apparently is an excess of caution in the case of isolation?
Has anyone estimated how many American lives would have been saved if the entire country had gotten vaccinated at the rates at which people in, say Vermont or Portugal, or at which registered Democrats, have gotten vaccinated? This is a serious question. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

Johns Hopkins is a right-wing outfit? That's what you're saying Pete? Isn't it good news? We can stop isolating. It wasn't a partisan post. The lockdowns were the most severe, under Trump. |

Which suggests another question--didn't we once conjecture that the vaccine would make us immune to covid? |
Paul and Pete -
Way more lives would have been saved if we all were vaccinated. AND... the lockdowns didn't do any good. They did meaningful damage to kids. Two things can be true at the same time. But you won't hear WDMSO or Pete ever admit the lockdowns were an over-reaction (even though Trump oversaw them), because they think that's being critical of the left, and we can't have that. Not ever. It's completely, absolutely, 100% fair and true to say that Republicans are keeping vaccination rates down. The lockdowns are hurting children who didn't get a say in the matter. Let's refuse to discuss it, because you assume it's not politically beneficial to do so. |

how many previously physically and mentally healthy people have had their lives shortened either immediately or over the long term as a result of the lockdowns? |

I don't see how the data could be any more clear, the vaccines drastically reduce your risk of getting a serious case. My best guess is that because the government has gotten so many parts of this so laughably wrong, people (mostly conservatives I guess) are very skeptical of anything the government tells them. And put me in the category of people who aren't interested in hearing ANYTHING that Faucci says, about anything. During the 2024 campaign, I want to hear all the republicans running, tell me how soon they plan on firing him if they win the general. But I trust my own physician completely, known him forever, he graduated from John Hopkins, and if I felt I couldn't trust his opinion on the vaccine, he wouldn't be my doctor. He told me to get the vaccine, told me when he thought it was safe to have my kids get it. I also have bad lungs (maybe because my parents smoked, I keep meaning to sue them), so I'm at a little more risk. Almost everybody who is dying, is unvaccinated. It doesn't get much more clear than that, does it? |

hopkins, and brown university ( concluded that child development is way off since covid), CT Children’s Medical Center seeing a flood of emergency requests for children’s behavioral health, drug deaths up, girls cutting themselves are way up… all of that is wrong?
