Tommy, where'd you find it?
|
Don’t let Nebe near it, he’s the master of ho’ing darters.
|
Thats one plug I dont fish often, in fact hardly ever. I'll take it and try to actually fish it this year.
|
I remember probably 30 years ago at Deep Hole on the incoming on a full moon, Blue and Silver Super Strike Darter, 3oz and we crushed 30# and up all night in October. RJ Zaldivia, Gill Guillotine, Bobby Guillotone and Scott Slocum all way out on the rock/rubble bar. Probably 100 yds from shore. Massive night. We killed one 40# fish RJ hooked.

Darters. Yes. And I should use more often as well. |
Tattoo Darters at Wasque ; )
BTW - careful listening to Zeno when says Daughters he means Darters. So DO NOT Put Your Daughters IN Your Plug Bag. |

Just put an order in to Zeno's Adriatic Gourmet. Can't wait to try all the stuff. :)
I have darters too. Worked well on the outgoing at Quonnie. Haven't used them in a long time... |

Last year was my first catching on darters, I am officially converted into a darterman! I must say, superstrike work very well, but if you are restricting yourself to them, you are missing out!

Yes sir SS are ok but wooden darters are the cats pajamas

Plastics work but wood is gooder!
Especially the wood ones made in Mass. LOL Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
Sporting Wood makes a nice wooden darter that casts pretty well. Especially when it’s really dark.

Darters flat out catch ;)

I found a Blue and White SS Darter back in the early 90s, at Deep Hole. I fished that GD plug for 10 years and never caught a Striper on it. Boy did I catch Bluefish. I had a 19# Blue I had weighted by Mike Bestwick at Quaker Lane in 91. I have a picture somewhere.
The plug was a "go to" in the Fall, in the surf, from Deep Hole to Watch Hill. It imitated the Blueback Herring that use to migrate in mass by us in late Oct/early Nov. It finally died on the Block in 93. |
