Peepers!

I was talking with a friend about spring peepers early last week, then Friday afternoon on my way to do some trout fishing with my son we heard them as soon as we got a few miles inland. When we got home then evening they were peeping away at my house as well. Still looking for my first osprey of the season and might take a drive to the nest sites this afternoon to see if anyone is home yet. Herring should be following soon, then not too far behind the migratory fish and another season will be underway. What other signs do you guys (and girls) look forward to each spring?

The white perch hot spot near my house began showing signs of angler foot traffic today, the first time I noticed it this year. Every spring I tell myself I am going to target them but I have yet to do it; maybe this will be the year...

they fight harder than stocked trout and taste a lot better...

Still a little early, I find the major run seems to be around the dog wood bloom.. in bye gone years, we used to pick them up smelt fishing all winter..never hurts to fish the swing on the rising tide...

Did some trout fishing Saturday afternoon with my son and we saw our first osprey feeding on fresh stockies. Then yesterday we went looking for white perch and saw three different pairs of osprey on their nests. No white perch, though.
