Muskeget

I was talking with a guy last night who said he used to get dropped off by the mail plane(a seaplane no less) to fish Muskeget. Now I don't know nothin'. But I've never heard of this set up. Have any of you?

I just found a little blurb about this(being dropped of by the seaplane) but back in the 50's and 60's. The guy I was talking to made it seem like it happened 1-2 years ago. Hmmmmmmmm.

Norm Gingress (sp) out of Fairhaven used to fly a seaplane into Cuttyhunk. He also would fly to Muskeget upon request. That was in the 70s and early 80s. Fished out there once and it was very good.

I don't know much about the plane thing, but what I know about Muskeget if we are talking about the same muskeget (off Nantucket) is that it holds a large seal colony.

I wouldn't think a smart striped bass would want to hang around the surrounding waters.

JDK, that sounds about right.
