Best reel to match Century Slingshot
 

Last year on MV I was in a bluefish blitz and a crew that I have stood amongst and always able to cast with were out casting me by 30 feet and reaching fish I could not. It got to point I had to stop and evaluate WTF was going on. I even talked to a few of them. It really was a humbling moment.

Bottom line my trusty ARRA 11 just won't throw as far as this new generation of tech filled launchers. I borrowed a Shimano and didn't like it. I threw the Century Slingshot and like magic the old man was able to cast with the boys again.

Last week on tax free Saturday I ordered a 10'6" Century Slingshot and now I need to match a reel. Not putting a stella on it (overkill) and dont see the point of a VS on this one. I ahve a Saragossa 8000 Im gonna try but figured I would ask if anyone is throwing a slingshot and what reel they like on it.

Love the Saragossa. Bought one about 2 months ago and it is "the bomb"

I have a few different slingshots - 1 non-Graphene 10.6" and both a Graphene and non Graphene 9.6". I currently have a VSX 150 on the 10.6 but have also used a Sustain 5000 on it quite a bit. They all are great rods. Bc of the thin walls I'm more careful handling them and putting them in my car than say my GSBs which gets thrown around. The SS's are fast blanks and throw pencils/metals very far but aren't good for say metal lips. I plan on using the 9.6" this year for Albie fishing.
