Fishing Storms

Wasn't an issue when I lived down south (in NJ), but now that I live on the Cape, what makes a storm heading north and east an opportunity (or not) for better than usual fishing from shore?
Does Lee present such an opportunity? Probably south side beaches or Bay side (like Bass Hole or Chapin). Best time of day/tide?
I'm sure this has been covered before, but I can't find any threads.

Fished the day after Bob and crushed 30# fish at Deep Hole.

Best fishing night of my life was on the cape during an August noreaster. I would love to be there for Hurricane Lee pregame.

I'd go but I have to work. Maybe Sunday afternoon.

I cancelled my trip to BI because of Lee. I have never done well pre-storm and the surf should be a mess for a while. Hope somebody does well.

LOL, I fished the south side of the Canal when a hurricane passed close offshore, in sustained 35 mph SE winds with 50 mph gusts. When I say I "fished" the south side, what I mean is that I stood on the south side and fished part of the north side. :rotf3:

After a short while I got tired of cranking in about 150 yards of braid, and threw short. The fish were hugging the south side too.

Day after Sandy, BI, water clear like Aquafina, I remember a tug on every cast until I realized I was hooking up with the 100 foot long raft of debris at SW point. Didn’t hook up once but Oakley still dropped them all.

Feedbag can be on prior to a big storm, fish can be found after if clear water is found.

Today is about the 4th day of this NE'er and rain. I have one 30" shore striper to show for it. While I am always on the hunt, I am especially so during these "miserable weather" storm conditions because it sometimes pays off. Not this time. So also a couple of crazies I met in the night and OTB.

Yesterday, I drove over 250 total miles and covered P'town to Plymouth... daytime scouting and night time hunting.
