Hoping to get out early fishing. MIL has had a little rough patch here today, after a very good couple of days... Dr. said symptoms were likely from low potassium and magnesium. But of course, my better half had those already in the chest of supplies... So we will see how the night goes. Dani is exhausted as I woke her at 0430 with the news about the internet and particularly the airlines, since she manages global travel and had 780 employees scheduled to fly today.....

Busy week ahead as her brother and his wife arrive from Va. on Wednesday to spend some time with their mother. I get my brother's dog that day as his family heads out for my nieces "wedding" on a ranch in Idaho... (they got married in October in a UPS store and their dog was their witness, as allowed in their new home state of Colorado...For health benefits.) I/we aren't spending $3k to go and stay in a tent and do a Canadian Tuxedo wedding. They got a very nice wedding present from us instead and we saw them at their east coast party here in June.
And then a celebration of life for a boarding school classmate who I used to fish with. Be a fair amount of people from school I expect, including one couple I introduced and haven't seen in twenty years. They spent 5 years living and cruising around the world on a catamaran.... Then full court press to get a bathroom remodel done here... minimizing the time we go from two toilets to one....
The summer will pass me by if I don't take some time...

Wait. You are shooting now? Where? We need a north of Boston get together and a shoot might just be the ticket. I haven't shot trap or skeet in >25 years.....

I am in. I have a Charles Daly, O/I, bored sheet/skeet. I'd love to start shooting again. I just don't want to go alone.

It’s a lot of fun, very humbling when I started, starting to get the hang of it now.

You in? Addieville Farms trap and skeet is 10 minutes from me. World famous and Mat Light, ex-NE Patriot has a bunch of benefit shoots there every year.

rphud 07-21-2024 04:56 PM

It is kind of a family tradition that I have not yet seriously carried on. Been a few time and had a good time. Need to buy a nice one me thinks.

Addieville is a nice place
I go there quite a bit
But don’t go for trap or skeet
They have neither
Sporting clays, you may be able to do ok with the recreational targets with you skeet bored C Daly

Those barrels fine for skeet ghats what it’s made for

Like I said the ‘recreational ‘ targets not the tournament targets you can do ok with skeet but IC or better yet LM preferred.

those chokes if doin trap from the 16yd like are fine.

If you’re just goin very infrequently I wouldn’t bother getting another barrel. You’ll still have fun.

Like I said. There is no trap or skeet at addieville

Nah, I think she’s the best hope to save the country from a Republican ticket that reeks like raft of used bait barrels left out in the sun. :wid:

Can you imagine the buzz on the old political forum. I really hope Trump doesnt bail out of the debate, the old shoe will be on the other foot and he probably wishes he never contributed money to her AG run in CA.

I would also make a donation to her but, since she is an elected official I can't say what that donation would be.

When i'm having a good round of sporting clays, i feel like im in the flow state. The rhythm of it all is soothing. such a great sport.
