Spot burn fallout
I don’t know if its sea bass population or the fact my favorite sea bass kayak launch site up inside buzzards bay was burned online about seven years back but the spot is dead. Before it was burned by an internet hero, after opening day and until the water warmed, I could limit out with good size knot heads in under two hours and then try for a fluke or two before heading in. Weekends now mean 30+ kayaks or more sometimes and i feel that after so many breeders have been pulled out of that spot, there just aren’t any numbers returning anymore. Launched early just after sunup to insure I could park my trailer, didn’t mark anything, caught two short sea bass and the only positive was a 26” striper damn near pulling my rod out of my hand while reeling up a 6” jerk bait from 30’ down. Great fight for a fish that size, home early and I think it’s time to sell the 2015 Hobie PA14. It’s in great shape because I trailer, but I’m ready for a 14 foot old town with MinnKota spot lock. Just need to figure out the market before posting on facebook, let me know if anyone has interest.
